It’s been a long time coming, but the time is finally here. I’ve been aiming to complete a modern yet straightforward rebrand since the beginning of the 21-22 school year, and here it is! This website will serve as a collective home for all the content created in the past, present, and future for Mendocino High School’s KAKX 89.3FM Student Powered Radio.
As you click around, you’ll find some familiar faces, updated digital content, and simple one-click menu items to access our webstream and donation platforms. We also have things set up to contact us quickly if you have any questions or if you’d like to hire us as technical support for your event. We have a page with request forms and rates that are easily accessible.
In addition to a website facelift, you may have noticed we’ve dropped the .org from our site address. This URL change primarily comes from us owning the fact we’re a radio station that broadcasts on the Frequency Modulated (FM) radio band. Beyond that, we also recognize we’re more than just a radio station. We produce podcasts, stream live videos, and stream on multiple audio platforms on the web. We wanted everyone to know that when you type kakx.fm into your URL bar, you’re getting more than just an organization of DJs and staff; you’re getting a quality source of creative entertainment produced by our hard-working students and staff.
We also have an additional redirect set up to access your favorite station from anywhere across the globe. If you type kakx.stream into your URL bar. You’ll gain quick access to our TuneIn, YouTube, and Radio Garden accounts. In addition to a link that downloads our playlist file, so you can play our stream from your favorite media player application.
As a tease, a lot is happening at KAKX 89.3FM Student Powered Radio. New partnerships with other stations, potential upgrades to our transmission range, new Executive Staff for the 22-23 school year. It’d be a novel if I attempted to write it on this post. So, for now, I will leave it here.
I appreciate you taking the time to read this. We hope you enjoy the new site!
